I specialize in trauma recovery for teenagers and adults, helping you reclaim your story and move toward a fulfilling, balanced life.
Utilizing evidence-based techniques, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and somatic approaches, I aim to support healing at every level—mental, emotional, and physical.

Our group supervision sessions bring together mental health professionals for collaboration, insight, and shared growth.
With 8 or fewer participants per session, you’ll gain support and guidance in a space designed to help you thrive in your practice.

Revive
(Safety & Stabilization)
Goal
Supporting you to regain a sense of emotional and physiological safety after trauma.
Intervention
Psychoeducation about trauma and its effects, identifying and managing triggers, learning grounding techniques, relaxation exercises, and distress tolerance, and establishing a sense of control over emotions and reactions.
Experience
Emerging from survival mode by understanding the body’s way of responding to trauma, becoming more aware of bodily sensations and emotional triggers and learning how to self-soothe and regulate overwhelming emotions.
Restore
(Processing & Integration)
Goal
Work through trauma-related thoughts, emotions, and beliefs, and process traumatic memories.
Intervention
Identifying and challenging distorted trauma-related beliefs (e.g., self-blame, shame, helplessness), processing traumatic memories and integrating new, adaptive beliefs about the self, others, and the world.
Experience
Redefining the trauma’s impact, gaining insight into how past trauma influences current relationships, behaviors, and self-worth, reconnecting with the body.
Rebuild
(Reconnection & Post Traumatic Growth)
Goal
Reconnect with yourself, others, and the world in a new way. This is the stage of post-traumatic growth—where healing transforms into resilience, self-trust, and a deeper sense of meaning.
Intervention
Deepening of relationships, shifting from self-blame to self-compassion, practicing new behaviours, and preventing relapse.

Note*: Bridget is a Registered Psychotherapist who holds Independent Practice status and is in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO). She has met all requirements as outlined by the CRPO to provide clinical supervision.

Pay using securely stored credit/debit card for automatic session charges. E-transfer and cash are also accepted.
Late cancellation policy:
Please note that cancellations made less than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment will be subject to a late cancellation fee of the full session amount. To avoid this charge, please contact me via email at bridget@bridgetohaganpsychotherapy.ca to reschedule your appointment with adequate notice.

What is the NIHB Program?
The NIHB program provides coverage for certain health benefits, including mental health counselling, for eligible First Nations and Inuit individuals. This program is designed to ensure that everyone has access to essential health services.
Am I Eligible for the NIHB PROGRAM?
You may be eligible for NIHB coverage if you are:
A registered First Nations individual, or An Inuit recognized by an Inuit land claim organization.

Can I do Direct Billing?
As an NIHB-approved provider, I offer direct billing for eligible services, so you can focus on your wellness journey without worrying about upfront costs.

As Chair of the Families for Awareness, Change
and Education (FACE) Patient and Family Advisory Committee, in partnership with Grand River Hospital’s mental health and addiction program.
I spearhead initiatives that enhance patient- and family-centered care. In this role, I lead a dedicated team advocating for policies and strategic initiatives that support service delivery improvements in collaboration with hospital leadership.
